A lot of Graphic Designers thought that just having the skill of Graphic Design is enough to make money big time. But I've come to realize that your Graphic Design skill is not enough for you to make money big time as a Graphic Designer. So what do you do as a Graphic designer that wants to make money big time in this industry? You have to know, understand and apply the business of Graphic Design to your skill.
Graphic Design has business in it, just as some other skills too have the business part of it. That's what every successful designers do to make money big time.
Now, there are various aspects of the Business of Graphic Design and I will talk about them briefly.
1. Pricing: this is an aspect were you price your work effectively. You must have a detailed price plan as a Graphic Designer.
2. Selling your Designs: There are various online platforms were you can sell your designs as a Graphic Designer and make money big time. example is Poster my wall. Etc.
3. Create Templates and Sell: you can also create templates and sell on various online platforms were designs are sold.
4. Sell courses: you can create effective Graphic Design courses and sell to people who wants to learn Graphic Design and make money big time. You can also put your Graphic Design Courses on various platforms, e.g Selar for sale.
5. Host onsite/online classes and put a fee on it, so that interested people can pay and learn, etc.
So you see, there a lot more ways to make money big time in this design industry than just depending on your skill alone. If you depend on your skill as a Graphic Designer alone, your earning will be little, but when you add the business part of Graphic Design into your Graphic Design skill, you will make money big time.
